House of Worth Estate Ledger is a private web app for cataloging what you own and recording the stories behind it. You photograph each item, write down why it matters, and record who it is meant for. Documents, letters, and photographs go in a private Legacy Vault, and you can invite family members to view or help.

Unlike a simple home inventory app, House of Worth keeps each item’s story alongside its record, so your family knows not just what you owned, but why it mattered.

House of Worth is designed for families, homeowners, collectors, estate executors, seniors planning their legacy, and adult children helping parents organize an estate, anyone who wants to protect both their valuables and the stories behind them.

Most families know what an item is, but not why it mattered. A ring is just a ring unless someone wrote down that it was your grandmother’s, worn at her wedding, and meant for your niece.

Cataloging your estate now means your family has fewer questions later. It records what you own, what it’s worth, where it came from, and who you intended it for, so your wishes are documented instead of left for someone else to guess.

Open Settings and edit the Estate name field at the top, then tap Save. The new name appears throughout your ledger immediately. Only the estate owner can rename an estate.

Each item can hold up to four photographs, the front, the back, a maker’s mark, a detail. The first photo is the cover shown throughout your ledger; open the item to see them all, and tap any photo to save it.

If you added the item using Photograph a room, the first photograph is the portion of the room photograph showing that item. You can replace it or add up to three more photographs of your own.

Start with the rooms of your home, then walk one room at a time.

When you tap the plus sign, you can choose Add one item, where you photograph one thing and record it yourself, or Photograph a room, where you take a photograph and we help identify items in it for you to review.

Either way, add each item with its photo, value, and story, and tap Mark Room Complete when a room is done. Your estate progress ring fills as you go.

Many families find it easiest to work from their phone while walking the house.

Yes. Each item can list one or more heirs, chosen from your family members or anyone you name, and you can optionally give each heir a percentage share. House of Worth records your wishes and the stories behind them; it is not a will or legal instrument, and we recommend sharing your ledger with your estate attorney.

Tap the photo on the item’s page to download it, or press and hold the photo on your phone to save or share it.

Almost anything, including furniture, jewelry, artwork, antiques, watches, coins, collectibles, firearms (inventory only), books, china, family heirlooms, vehicles, important documents, photographs, and memorabilia.

The Estate includes up to 25 items, The Legacy up to 50, and The Dynasty is unlimited. If you reach your plan’s limit, you can upgrade at any time and your estate carries over exactly as it is.

Each vault record can include photographs and PDF documents, receipts, appraisals, letters, insurance policies, up to 10 MB per file.

Yes. House of Worth allows you to organize your estate room by room, making it easy to locate possessions throughout your home.

Yes. Each item can include photographs to document its appearance, condition, identifying marks, and sentimental value. Photographs are stored in private, secured storage and are only viewable by you and the family members you’ve authorized.

Yes. You can document who each item is intended for, helping ensure your wishes are clearly communicated to your loved ones.

Everything in the vault is visible to all family members you’ve invited to your estate, the vault is your family’s shared archive. The “For” field records who a keepsake is meant for, but it does not restrict who can view it. Invite only the people you trust with your family’s records.

Yes. Vault records accept photos and PDF documents, deeds, appraisals, insurance policies, letters. On a phone, choose “Browse” in the file picker to reach your PDFs.

Open the record and tap the attachment. Images download directly; PDFs open in your browser, where you can use the share or download button to save them.

The Legacy Vault is your family's secure digital archive. Store items such as family recipes, letters, historical photographs, insurance documents, wills and trusts, appraisals, certificates, personal stories, and notes explaining why an item matters.

The Legacy Vault preserves not just possessions, but the memories connected to them.

Yes. Owners can resend a pending invitation (a fresh link is emailed and the old link stops working) or revoke it entirely from the Family Access screen.

Exports are available to Owners and Editors. Family members with viewing access can browse the ledger but cannot download it.

Yes. Invite trusted family members to view or help manage your estate based on the permissions you choose.

Yes. Family Access allows trusted members to work together on the estate. The Legacy plan covers you plus 3 family members; The Dynasty is unlimited. The Estate is just you.

The Professional Network is where you can search for appraisers, estate sale companies, and insurance professionals in your area. Today those results come from the web, and House of Worth has not reviewed or endorsed them. Sponsored listings from professionals who have applied will appear here in future, clearly marked Sponsored.

No. Professionals listed in the Professional Network are independent businesses. House of Worth does not provide legal, financial, insurance, or appraisal services, and inclusion in the directory is not an endorsement or guarantee of any provider.

Yes. House of Worth has no third-party trackers, advertising pixels, or analytics scripts. Nothing you enter is sold or shared with advertisers.

Your photographs and documents are stored privately and are not publicly accessible. Links used to view them expire automatically. Card details go directly to our payment processor and are never stored on House of Worth servers.

If you choose to use Photograph a room, your room photograph is securely sent to Google’s AI service to identify items and suggest information about them. The full room photograph is deleted after identification is complete. Only the portion showing an item you choose to add is saved as that item’s photograph. Google does not use photographs sent from House of Worth to train or improve its models.

Your estate is visible only to you and the family members you invite.

When you create an account we record the date and time you accepted our Terms, along with your IP address, as a record that the agreement was made.

Yes. We perform regular automated backups of platform data. Backups are a safeguard rather than a guarantee against every possible loss, so we encourage you to export your estate regularly using the export tools in the app.

Yes. You can export your estate inventory and related information for backup or personal recordkeeping.

Yes. Every plan begins with a 30-day free trial. You choose your plan when you sign up, and your first 30 days are free, if you cancel before the trial ends, you won’t be charged.

Absolutely. You can upgrade, downgrade, switch between monthly and annual billing, or cancel at any time. In the app, open Settings and choose Manage Subscription to access your secure billing portal.

Nothing is deleted. Your records, photographs, and stories stay exactly as they are, and you can always view and export everything.

If you have more items than your new plan includes, you will not be able to add or change items until you are back within your plan’s limit, either by choosing a larger plan again or by removing items you no longer need. Everything you have preserved remains yours either way.

Yes. There are no long-term contracts, and you may cancel your subscription whenever you choose.

No. House of Worth is not a substitute for a will, trust, power of attorney, or other legal estate planning documents. Instead, it complements your estate plan by helping organize your possessions, preserve important information, document your wishes, and capture the stories behind your family's treasured heirlooms.

We encourage every family to work with a qualified estate planning attorney for legal advice and estate planning documents.

No. House of Worth is an organizational and legacy preservation platform. Information provided through the platform is for informational purposes only. This includes any values, replacement costs, or other details suggested by Photograph a room, which are estimates only. Professional legal, financial, tax, and appraisal advice should always be obtained from qualified professionals.

If you have The Legacy or The Dynasty plan, family members you’ve invited through Family Access have their own sign-ins and can continue to access your estate. We encourage you to invite the people you want to have access ahead of time.

Anyone you haven’t invited cannot access your estate. The Estate plan does not include Family Access, so no one else will have access through their own account.

House of Worth records your wishes, but it is not a will and does not transfer ownership of your belongings. Share your ledger with your estate attorney so the wishes you document here are consistent with your legal estate documents.

There are five.

The Estate Inventory (PDF) includes your items and their photographs, organized room by room. It is prepared in the background and emailed to you when it is ready.

The Legacy Vault (PDF) includes your vault records and their attachments.

The Estate Inventory (CSV) contains your items in a spreadsheet you can open in Excel or Google Sheets to view, sort, or total them.

The Legacy Vault (CSV) contains your vault records in a spreadsheet, including each record’s title, type, who it is for, the note you wrote, and the names of any attached files.

The Full Backup (JSON) is a complete backup of your estate’s records and structure in a standard format you can keep anywhere.

Your data is always yours.

Yes, in the PDF reports.

The Estate Inventory (PDF) includes your photographs, and the Legacy Vault (PDF) includes your attachments. The CSV and JSON downloads are text only and do not contain the actual photographs or documents.

You can also save any photograph individually by opening it and tapping it, or pressing and holding on your phone. Vault attachments can be saved the same way: open the record and tap the attachment.

Anything you have already added to your estate is saved and safe.

When you use Photograph a room, the photograph and the list of items we find are temporary. If you close the app or leave before you finish reviewing them, that list and photograph will no longer be available. Nothing you already added is lost, only your place in the room review.

When you come back, choose Photograph a room again and take another photograph. We may identify some of the same items you already added, so simply select and add the ones that are still missing.

Photograph a room is designed to help identify larger, distinct items such as furniture, artwork, lighting, and other belongings around a room. It can identify up to ten items from one photograph.

Collections of smaller items, such as glassware, figurines, or china, can be harder to identify individually when they are close together.

For a collection, you have two options:

If the pieces belong together, use Add one item to photograph the collection as a group. Give it a name, such as Grandmother’s Crystal Glassware, and note the number of pieces or other details in the description.

If an individual piece is valuable, has its own story, or you want it to go to someone in particular, use Add one item and photograph that piece separately.

When you use Photograph a room, the full room photograph is used to identify the items in it and is then deleted.

The photograph is sent securely to Google’s AI service, which identifies items and returns the results to House of Worth. We do not keep the full room photograph after that process is complete.

For each item you choose to add to your estate, we save only the portion of the photograph showing that item. That becomes the item’s first photograph. You can replace it or add up to three more photographs of your own.

Google does not use photographs sent from House of Worth to train or improve its models.

They are estimates, not appraisals.

When you use Photograph a room, House of Worth may suggest a value and replacement cost for each item it identifies, along with a description of what it can see. If a maker or brand appears likely, it may suggest that too.

These suggestions are starting points. You can review and change any of them, and nothing is added to your estate until you choose to save it.

Suggested value is an estimate of what the item may be worth today. Suggested replacement cost is an estimate of what it may cost to buy a comparable item today. These can be very different numbers, and both are estimates only.

A suggested maker or brand is based on what can be identified from the photograph and may not be correct. Please review it and change it if needed.

If we don’t identify the maker or brand, or get it wrong, you can enter the correct one and ask us to update the suggested value and replacement cost. Knowing the maker or brand can make those estimates more accurate.

House of Worth does not provide appraisals or verified valuations. If you need a formal valuation, you can use Experts to find an appraiser in your area.

Open Reports and choose Prepare.

Reports are prepared in the background rather than downloaded immediately because they contain your photographs and can take some time to build. We’ll email you a link when your report is ready. The link does not expire.

You can prepare each report once per day. If your estate is large, the report may arrive as several files divided by room.

In the Legacy Vault report, attachments that are photographs are included in full. PDF attachments are included when they are small enough. If a PDF is too large to include, it will be listed by name with a note that you can download it directly from your Legacy Vault at any time.

Either works, but we recommend a computer for exports, the files land in your Downloads folder and open easily in a spreadsheet. Your phone is perfect for photographing and cataloging as you walk the house.

Yes. House of Worth is fully responsive and designed to work beautifully on desktops, tablets, and mobile devices. Native iPhone and Android apps are also on our roadmap.

Yes. Your estate is securely stored so you can access it from your supported devices using your account.

Your estate enters a 90-day grace period. Your records are preserved in a read-only state, and you can sign in to view and export them at any time during those 90 days. We will notify you before the grace period ends. After 90 days, your records are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. You may also request deletion sooner at any time, deletion requests are honored within 30 days. Full details are in our Terms of Service.

Simply select Forgot Password on the Sign In screen and follow the instructions to securely reset your password.

Open Settings and select Change email address, then enter your new email address and your current password.

We will send a confirmation link to your new email address. Open it and your email address will be updated. Until then, continue signing in with your current email address.
