How House of Worth Began
My sister, Heather, and I were talking one day about her love of antiquing and estate sales. She had recently bought an old recipe box at an estate sale. When she opened it, she found more than handwritten family recipes.
Inside was a handwritten letter from an aunt to her niece.
The letter explained the recipes, shared memories, and captured the love behind them. It was deeply personal, yet somehow it had left the family it belonged to.
As we talked about it, one thought kept coming back.
The family who sold that recipe box probably never knew the letter was inside.
The recipes survived. But the family story behind them ended up with a stranger.
That conversation stayed with me. We started talking about all the things families lose that have nothing to do with money.
A first-edition book that no one realizes is valuable.
A handwritten recipe that only one person can explain.
A military medal with no story attached.
A photograph with no names written on the back.
The value of these things is not just what they are worth. It is knowing why they mattered.
That is where House of Worth began.
I built House of Worth Estate Ledger to give families one private place to photograph and organize what they own, preserve the stories behind meaningful belongings, document their value, and record who they are meant for.
